SHUYI NUMEROLOGY
THE PATTERN WAS WRITTEN
before you learned to read it
Your date of birth carries a structure that the Shuyi tradition has read for centuries: the timing, the tendencies, the fortunes that favour you and the ones that ask more of you. I read it the way I read everything else in this work, as one instrument for seeing yourself clearly.
WHERE THIS SITS
Numerology as a Mirror
A great deal of what passes for numerology online is entertainment: a name typed into a calculator, a paragraph of flattery. Shuyi is older and considerably more exacting than that. It reads your birth date as a structural document, the Life Manual you arrived with, and asks a different question to the one most self-development work asks. Not what is broken in you, but what were you encoded to be before circumstance and expectation rearranged the answer.
The system
What Your Numbers Actually Reveal
Six layers, read together rather than in isolation. None of them alone tells you very much. Held against each other, they form a fairly complete picture.
01
Life Path Number
The core influence hidden in your birth date. It points to your natural strengths, your drives, and the general direction your life is built to travel in.
02
The Life Manual
The complete set of numbers derived from your birth date is the blueprint you were born with, rather than a personality you grew into later.
03
Theory of Five Elements
Metal, water, wood, fire and earth, and where your own chart sits in balance or imbalance between them, and their direct bearing on health, work and relationships.
04
Yearly Cycle of Fortune
Each year carries its own energetic signature. Knowing yours helps you tell the difference between a year to build in and a year to wait in.
05
Name and Zodiac Study
Your name carries its own weight, and your zodiac year works alongside your numbers to shape timing and how your energy is received by others.
06
Benefactors and Cosmic Attraction
Why certain people, opportunities, and rooms keep finding you, while others never quite do can be read through the same structural lens as everything else.
The foundation
The Nine Fortunes of Life
In Shuyi Culture, life is understood as nine interconnected fortunes. The Self sits at the centre. The eight around it are not separate problems to solve one at a time; they are a single web, and progress in one genuinely does move the others.
At the Centre
SELF
Fate
The starting hand, roughly thirty per cent of the outcome and the part you inherited.
Location
Where you live and work, and the energetic weight of that place.
People
The benefactors, allies and influences that open doors you could not open alone.
Merit
What you have given, and what quietly comes back to you because of it.
Time
Knowing when to act, and when the wiser move is to wait.
Name
Your reputation, and the trust it does or does not earn on your behalf.
Learning
The lifelong fortune, built through study of the world and of yourself.
Environment
The spaces you inhabit day to day, and whether they nourish or drain you.
Shuyi has been taught and practised across Asia, with over 60 million students and 6,000 service centres worldwide supporting it. I teach and use it as one of my instruments in my own work.

No Cost, No Call
Your Free Personal Reading
Tell me your date of birth, and I will send you a short video reading built around your Life Path number. It is the actual reading for that number, so you can decide for yourself whether any of it lands.
- Your core Life Path number and what it points to
- The strengths that tend to come with it
- The pattern most people with that number keep repeating
- Where the Nine Fortunes and Five Elements fit into your own chart
Born between 11pm and midnight? The new day in Chinese time starts at 11pm, so we adjust the reading during the darkest hours. Just tick the box if you were born between 11pm and midnight.
Twin or Multiple Birth? I need more data, including both parents’ dates of birth, to calculate twins, triplets, etc. Please email me directly to arrange your reading.
Live, Every Sunday
The Free Webinar
Two hours, live, once a week. This is the one place in the whole path where you actually get time with one of our experienced teachers or me. We walk through how to calculate a Life Path number properly so you can do the same for your friends, take the Nine Fortunes further than a single reading ever could, go deeper into more of the numbers in your Life Manual (including those that may be missing), and then leave room for questions.
Here’s what you can expect:
- How to calculate your own Life Path number by hand
- How to start reading the deeper patterns of your Life Manual
- A better understanding of the influences of your zodiac and the 5 elements
- A look at what the Orchestration of Life program teaches, for those who wish to go deeper still
Request a free reading, and I will send you the link to join the webinar.

Frequently Asked
Questions
What is a Life Path number?
It is the core number calculated from your full date of birth, and the starting point for everything else in a Shuyi reading. It points to your natural strengths, potential challenges, and the general path you are built to walk.
Do you need my exact birth time?
No. If you were born after 11pm, we need to make a small adjustment to the calculations, but we don’t require the exact time.
Is the video reading really free?
100%
What happens after I submit the form?
You will receive your personal video reading by email, along with an invitation to the next free Sunday webinar if you would like to go further. The email should arrive within a few minutes, but if it’s not with you after an hour or so, let me know. Remember to check your spam or special folders too.
Is there a live course, or only the webinar?
The Orchestration of Life is the full course, taught in person at locations worldwide throughout the year, or online across five half-days at the end of each month for anyone who cannot travel. The free Sunday class is only delivered online. An offline version of the free webinar can be arranged by appointment.
I'm a twin. Can I still get a reading?
Yes, but it needs a little more detail than the form allows, including whether you are the older or younger twin and both parents’ birth dates. Please get in touch directly, and I will arrange this properly.
